About Vermillion Hill Farms
Vermillion Hill Farms has been a family owned farm since 1987. Prior to growing hemp VHF was a hay farm and worked with many farmers and ranchers all over the country. 3 years ago VHF transitioned into farming hemp. At Vermillion Hill Farms we take our farming very seriously so that we can deliver a quality product every time.
Owner Anson Mitchell spent the first 10 years of his life growing up in Dallas, Texas. His family then relocated to a beautiful farm along the Front Range of Colorado just on the outskirts of Boulder County Colorado in 1990. He would spend his youth watching the sunset on Longs Peak and bonding with the animals on the farm. Anson has always shared a close connection with all types of animals, and people the same. It took some time venturing around, and periods of growth that we all must go through before the opportunity to help people presented itself. This came in the form of hemp and related products. Anson began researching tirelessly, realizing what hemp was all about. The benefits for both people and animals were too much to ignore. Colorado is at the forefront of hemp production, and being from Colorado, things began to fall into place in an exciting way. Now, it's happening. Great things are in motion, Anson and everyone at VHF encourages you to do your research just as Anson has. Anson and VHF are confident your research will lead you toward a new healthy way of life.
Farm Manager Darren Palombo is a Colorado native raised on the Front Range. With exposure to farming from a young age, Darren learned the meaning of hard work early on in life. He spent most days at the neighboring dairy farm to Vermillion Hill Farms and participating in 4-H raising grand champion chickens and bucket calves. He took his work ethic he learned on the farm into the construction industry; building log homes, remodeling commercial buildings and everything in-between. In 2007 a serious construction accident left him with a broken back, leading to his full-time path in cannabis to avoid the use of pain medications. Darren has been growing cannabis for 20 years; from his first plant at age 15 in his garden, to his two successful years managing an 80-acre hemp farm. His motivation remains the same – to make the world a better place with cannabis, one smile at a time!
